Scholarship
The June Ricketson Tanner Music Scholarship was recently established for Coffee's Kids Music Academy. This donation was initiated and given by a local family who desires to see children's lives touched by music, just as Mrs. Tanner touched theirs. Mrs. Tanner was more than a musical influence - she left a legacy of love and acceptance. The following describes their memories of June Ricketson Tanner:
“Mrs. June’s gentle, sweet spirit exuded love and acceptance for others. Her love for Christ
was exemplified through her musical talents of playing the piano and singing with her
beautiful voice. She was the pianist at our home church for at least 25 years. Mrs. June helped
form the Carver Baptist Church music ministry into a beacon of light in the community. She
was always willing to help in any way possible - and always with a smile. She had a great
appreciation for music education and helped others in learning to read music as pianists and
vocalists. Her leadership helped others in expressing their worship to the Lord through their
countenance, as she always displayed herself.”
Coffee’s Kids Music Academy is deeply grateful for this gift and the establishment of this scholarship fund. CKMA is also very thankful for others who have already contributed to this fund enabling children to learn in the future. It will be made available to prospective students who wish to begin building a musical foundation for life. If you know an elementary student who might benefit from this scholarship, please encourage them to apply. Application for this scholarship is available now. If interested, please call
Mrs. Sonny at 770-655-1078.
